My life has been spent living on five continents, among many diverse cultures. As such, I was exposed to copious perspectives on every subject. This ability has carried over into my artwork in which I offer a few points of view on a particular subject - but always leave room for the viewer to interject their own personal interpretation.
I dabbled in art in my spare time while pursuing a career and family. Everything changed abruptly while working the 9-1-1 World Trade Center event. I witnessed first hand how lives could be altered in an instant, and how precious life truly is. Since then, I have vowed to live each day to the fullest. "Carp a Diem" became my mantra.
Later, I spent 25 years in the majestic smokey mountains of western North Carolina which both inspired and motivated me to hone my artistic skills. I now reside in Florida where I hang in local and national art galleries and participate in art shows. Mostly, I paint for my own satisfaction and a desire to transform the everyday mundane into a magical, beautiful essence. It is this magic that I want to share with the viewer.
As I sit on the beach and watch the scenery change its awesome kaleidoscope of colors, I am continually reminded that life is indeed good!
The world is but a canvas to our imagination: Henry David Thoreau
